Vermont Rail System offers complete freight car repair and inspection services to other railroads, private fleet owners, and leasing companies at its North Walpole, NH M1002/M-1003 certified car shop facility (VRNN). One of the few car shops in the region, it is ideally situated on rail lines that offer direct connections to two major Class 1 railways. The facility can handle all sizes and varieties of freight cars, performing work from routine maintenance to wreck rebuilding and removal and replacement of tank car service equipment. Vermont Rail System’s Car Shop also offers off-site repair capabilities with a group of mobile trucks that can perform repair-in-place services within Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
